A Christmas Carol was first presented in December of 2011.
"A Christmas Carol is an ideal production for an ensemble and suburban community audience. This production was not only my first written adaptation from a novel, it was also my first sold-out proscenium production, selling more than 700 tickets an evening. I chose to adapt the script myself in order to take advantage of the company of actors I had at my disposal. My desire was to create as much stage magic as humanly possible, so creating visual effects for the ghosts to appear and disappear became great challenges. False walls, trap doors, smoke effects and more were utilized to create a visual environment that was visually enticing, while also providing adequate cover for stage tricks. We also utilized animals, having both a dog and pony in the show to keep the magic alive for children and families alike."
The stage was designed to present a London street corner that could be the center for Ebenezer's Christmas Eve journey. The main building had a large window through which scenes like Fezziwig's and Fred's could be seen, while also being able to darken and disappear quickly and easily. The front of the stage was extended into the audience to create a stage thrust that could serve as a skating rink, sledding hill, grave yard and more. The stage left and right wings were used as Scrooge's bedroom and office, respectively.
