Alice in Wonderland is a new adaptation based on the books Alice In Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. It's premiere presentation was in October of 2015.
"For Alice In Wonderland my plan was to create a stage play that included characters from both books and told a complete story from beginning to end. The books are incredible forays into the imagination of a young girl, but my desire was to challenge the facts of the matter, whether or not Alice really took the journey down the rabbit hole and the emotional toll the perilous adventure took on her young psyche. For me, the story is about a child wishing for more adventure in her life, but finding herself longing for the comforts and safety of her home most of all. The challenge was creating a plot were there isn't much of one already provided by Carroll. To do this, I combined both the Queen of Hearts and Red Queen into one character who desires above all to rule Wonderland. Because newcomer Alice poses a threat to her kingdom, the Queen hunts her from the Red Kingdom to the White and back again. The famous trial scene at the end of the original book is moved to the end of the story to tie together all characters, most of which have no desire to help the young girl return home. The fear of the Jaberwocky and the desire to obtain the Vorpal sword bring the show to it's stunning conclusion returning the young girl to the British countryside she knows."
The production was presented with all digitally projected scenic backgrounds to give the space color and depth otherwise not achievable.
