Bye Bye Birdie was staged in February of 2011.
"My goal with Bye Bye Birdie was to bring the piece closer to the film production version but with a few twists; our Conrad Birdie we played as a Mexican-American teen heart throb akin to Ritchie Valens. The actor who played Conrad went on to be a latino pop star in LA. The set consisted of two houses that rotated to showcase the exterior for the center of town scenes and then could open up to create two interiors, the MacAfee's and Maude's Bar. This was the first musical I had ever staged and it was a good foray into the genre; the production was full of non-stop teen angst and fun."
