Yankee Tavern was staged in January of 2014.
"The show Yankee Tavern takes place in one location, a dive bar in the heart of Manhattan. I wanted to create a naturalistic set in which everything would work as it would in a bar; the jukebox played tunes, the overhead fan spun, the cash register beeped and clanged, the coffee maker brewed real coffee, the busted tv set gave off static and snow, and the taps poured real beer (root beer in this case). The audience sat in the full round so that every seat had a unique view of the bar; some audiences got to see the show as if they were patrons, others saw the world from behind the bar as if they worked there. Because of this intimate seating, no element went without detail, from the wood floor, to the garbage in the trash can. The naturalistic world of the Yankee Tavern became a character all its own."
